What this is
Couch Views is a steady corner of the internet where I write about pain, grit, recovery, and how we keep moving. Some days are practical (what actually helps on flare days or on the road). Some days are reflective (loss, identity, starting again). And sometimes it’s sports and culture—seen through a broadcaster’s eye.
Who it’s for
Anyone navigating chronic migraines, PPPD, disability—or supporting someone who is.
People who want clear, human writing without clickbait or doom.
Sports and pop-culture fans who prefer signal to noise.
Travelers who need realistic, disability-aware tips for making trips possible.

Why subscribe?
I write honest, practical essays about chronic illness and resilience—plus stories from my years in sports broadcasting and from living all over the country. You’ll also get my smart, no-BS takes on sports and pop culture. It’s a calm, human space: real talk, useful takeaways, and the occasional laugh.
About me
I’m Ryan. I worked in sports broadcasting (including ESPN) and have called several corners of the country home. In early 2022, vestibular migraines and PPPD changed everything. I write from that reality—without self-pity, without platitudes, and with the perspective of someone who now truly understands what “being disabled” means. I still like to travel; it just looks different. I plan harder, rest more, and pick my spots—then I report back with what worked and what didn’t.
