If you don't want to install and run the
discovery client
in your infrastructure, you can manually upload your infrastructure data into
Migration Center.
This page helps you to choose which manual import method is best for you.
Manual import methods
To manually import your infrastructure data in Migration Center,
you perform two steps:
Create the data about your infrastructure with one of the available
methods.
Upload the data to the Migration Center portal where it is
further processed and analyzed.
To create the data, use the following methods:
If your infrastructure is hosted on other cloud providers, such as AWS or
Azure, use automated scripts to generate a compressed ZIP file that contains
all the information about your infrastructure, including assets
specifications, performance and utilization data.
To manually fill in information about your infrastructure, use the templates
provided in the Google Cloud Migration Center portal.
To import data from your VMware assets, use RVTools to gather the data
and import it in the Google Cloud Migration Center portal.
The following pages explain how to create and upload data to
Migration Center using these different methods.
Limitations
Regardless of the method you use to import your infrastructure data into
Migration Center, you can create a maximum of 100,000 assets per
project.
