Dear…,
I don’t normally write letters, but I do write. A lot. Sometimes the words run away from me and other times, they sit next to me like a child clinging to another person for connection. That’s what this Substack is— a child looking for a friend. My thoughts on tv shows, film, books, and random topics that I feel like talking about.
But one thing that remains throughout all of my posts is my authenticity and imperfect nature. I don’t believe in perfection, especially for us Black women. We are allowed to feel whatever we feel, do whatever we want to do, do nothing when we don’t feel like doing it, and making mistakes.
These pieces are raw, unfiltered, and more than likely filled with a lot of emotion. These words I share with you are aspects of me, my knowledge, and understanding of the world through a psychological and sociological lens. If you like to talk about tv, movies, and books through various lenses then I’m the girl for you!
