The Website League has Launched.
Good day, Website League followers, operators and members.
We are on the precipice of a new dawn in the project - the launch of the Website League is upon us.
We have refreshed the website for the Website League, the meta-hub we expect both new members and League operators to confer upon.
Enjoy the new graphics and features, give our freshly pressed pages a read - and sign up on a node and/or get involved with us, if you're interested!
https://websiteleague.org/
The important things of note, compared to our pre-Launch status, are:
- Officially open enrollment, on the nodes that accept public sign-ups.
- You can join one and free yourself from corporate socials without being a highly-entrenched tech-nerd or even knowing what an ActivityPub is!
- (though if you are, you already know how this all works 🤓 )
- Easier flow for prospective members to join the Website League through one of our many cooperative nodes.
- The Website League website will have an up-to-date list of nodes available to sign up through. If you wish to run a node, either for yourself, for your friends, or anyone - get in touch!
- Smarter governance, to ensure the liveliness and promptness of our active band of Stewards.
- Stewards of the Website League are the organizational and central staff and committee who both host you and your nodes in an oversight capacity, as well as foster the development and continued utility of the Website League. We expect active, prompt and ready stewardship to be a core tenet of the League's operational stability and capability.
- More collaborative and intensive moderation strategies.
- We have retooled our codes of conduct, and points of contact, to better help you to cover incidents and ease the workload on our many nodes' operators and their moderation and community upkeep teams.
- Better tooling for operators and node administrators to join and interoperate with Website League nodes.
- If you want to run a node, it is now easier than before to stand up League-compatible software and services, and to join your website into the League, as an Operator.
Finally, a reminder that our codes of conduct for the Community at large and Stewards of the League are finalized and in full effect.
Thank you for taking your time to read the news. Or, swipe away the notification because of the rocket emoji in the header, we know it's gaudy. We won't judge.
Welcome to the Website League.
Our official update for December is out. It summarizes what we've been up to, and includes helpful information, including guides and open nodes you can currently join to use the League.
