A Guide to Video Compression, Updated Sept 2021
Back in 2014, I wrote a guide on Video Compression and some general technical information to accompany it. The purpose of this was to help a friend to improve their knowledge for a job they were applying for. Since then the document has been used at Darlington College as a handout for media students, to also help them.
I have now updated the document (as of September 2021) to modernise it for todays technical needs, which in some areas are very different to 2014. The main reason for the update was because I wanted to use it myself to hand to student on the MA course module I’m now teaching at Salford University.
