Playing and setting up a PlayStation controller on a PC can be a bit challenging compared to using an Xbox joystick. You need the necessary drivers and software to configure the buttons. Previously, the DS3 Tool was commonly used, but now there is Better DS3.

Better DS3 utilizes the MotioninJoy driver (originally DS3 Tool) to enable the configuration of PS controllers. With Better DS3, you can create profiles and customize all the buttons on your controller. It also provides additional features such as displaying the battery status and automatically disconnecting the controller after a certain period of inactivity.

One of the most appealing aspects of Better DS3 is its ergonomic interface, which is much simpler and easier to understand compared to the DS3 Tool. Additionally, Better DS3 does not require any installation. You can smoothly and quickly customize the buttons on your PlayStation controller without the need for extensive research like with the DS3 Tool.

However, it is important to note that Better DS3 requires the separate installation of the MotioninJoy driver, which is included with the DS3 Tool. This means that you still need to install the DS3 Tool from MotioninJoy initially. Once the installation is complete, you can enjoy the more convenient and pleasant-to-use interface of Better DS3.

Installation:

1. Download and install the MotioninJoy driver (version 071001) from the provided link.
2. Open MotioninJoy, connect your controller, and navigate to the "Driver Manager" tab.
3. Select the appropriate driver to install under "Hardware Location".
4. Click on "Load driver".
5. Close MotioninJoy and open DS3 Better - the installation is now complete.
