Mabel is currently querying her debut novel “Vorathium”. When she isn’t maladaptive daydreaming up new stories, she is rediscovering music and breaking up the fight club run by her four crotch goblins. Or she’s got her head stuck in a book. OR she is rewatching Pride and Prejudice or The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (EXTENDED EDITION ONLY) for the five hundredth time.

  • Hey everyone!

I’m Mabel! After losing myself in motherhood I fell back into reading, and then one day my own story popped into my head. Then a psychic told me to “look at it from a different perspective” so I scrapped the entire story and wrote a new one.

I wrote the first draft in about a month and spent the last three years between editing, parenting, homeschooling, depression and having another kid (right after having twins!) This last year was fully dedicated to three other drafts, honing and crafting the world of Vorathium into what it is now. (All while nursing my youngest and editing one handed while she slept on me.)

This novel is my soul book. It deals with loss, grief, and infertility, all in a Romantasy setting. The characters are in their thirties because I was tired of reading about eighteen year olds and wanted to create a world with relatable characters for people my age. The romance is an established couple, and we follow the sidekick of the story, rather than the usual “chosen one” trope.

I’m so excited to be querying this novel and find a partner (agent) who is as passionate about my story as I am. I want it to be the best that it can be and to share it with the world. I can’t wait to connect with readers who will see themselves in my characters in ways that aren’t usually done.

“Iria, the chosen one’s sidekick, must fight her way out of her fated shadow, earn the trust of the chosen one who hates her, and prove she’s worthy of the prince who fell for her first and refuses to let her slip away.”

Thank you so much for stopping by!
