Our name

Our moniker is a reflection of this, paying homage to the French privateer vessel the Acheron (ash-eh-ron) from the Aubrey-Maturin series of novels and the film "Master & Commander". Just as the Acheron’s mastery exemplifies agility and innovation, traders must continually refine their strategies to navigate the ever-changing currents of the market. The team
The Acheron Trading team is composed of domain experts in the fields of pure and applied mathematics, computer science, actuarial/risk management sciences, economics, consulting, accounting, and regulatory matters. Our team members have acquired experience at the likes of Goldman Sachs, PwC, Macquarie Group and have had successful careers as entrepreneurs through multiple ventures and M&A operations.
Our DNA is also intimately connected to academic excellence with team members remaining close to their alma maters such as the world-renowned Princeton University’s Bendheim Center for Finance. We are proud to house guest lecturers and project leaders in the MFE’s quantitative trading strategies class at Cornell University, trading competition leaders at MIT, peer reviewers for the research Journal of Quantitative Finance, as well as members of the expert network of Alumni Ventures - the largest US venture capital fund, managing the capital of Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, MIT or Columbia alumni.
