Tuesday’s Front Page is a youth-focused program where hosts Ehab Fahad and Joey Forssman discuss current affairs and local community stories, highlighting the perspectives of young people, marginalised communities, and other groups often overlooked. The show explores hot-button social and political issues while also celebrating the wonderful work and achievements of local people across the Greater Geelong region. We also bring some fun to the second hour with satirical comedy segments and a movie-review guessing game — striking a great balance between the serious and the light-hearted. The program is brought to you by a fantastic team of young producers: Darby Travers, Charlotte Frisch Duff, and Nick Wilde. Darby Travers also presents our signature Geelong Dispatch segment, reporting on news from across our local region. The show is for young people, by young people. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/tuesday-front-page/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" allow="autoplay; clipboard-write" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Tuesday Front Page"></iframe>

Trish and Sam’s friendship began with learning guitar together. They quickly hit it off and their music skyrocketed, performing at concerts and plays, hosting events and anything else they could get their hands on. That was fifteen years ago. They always bounced off one another really well and everyone told them they should be doing radio. Now, they host the Friday breakfast show as The Gems. Their motto is “you only get one life” and you certainly won’t see them waste theirs! Together, they’ve convinced Kasey Chamber’s dad to spend a weekend performing with them in Tamworth, sung the National Anthem in the middle of the ring at the State Championship Boxing, and they even swam nude in Tassie on the coldest day of the year with 700 other people! There’s nothing they wouldn’t give a red hot go at. Trish and Sam love showing women that life can still begin after their babies grow up and leave the nest, that age is just a number! Most of all, they want people listening to their show to feel inspired to get out there and live as much of their life with fun and happiness. Hopefully we empower older women to get out there and do stuff they have never thought of!! Local music, chatting with local musos. Sometimes we just like talking about whatever pops into our heads at the time. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/the-gems/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="The Gems"></iframe>

"The Musik Cube" began in 2010 in the 2-4pm timeslot on a Thursday, followed by the very popular drive program with the great "Tiny G". Soon after the 4-6pm time became available and we have been ensconced there ever since. The show has a couple of aims. First of all, the main goal is to provide entertaining radio to as wide an audience as possible. The second is to provide a platform for local artists, particularly those at the beginning of their career, and figures to promote their wares where otherwise they would not be able to on the radio platform. We have had countless artists and local figures join us both live and on the phone throughout our journey and every single one of them has had an interesting tale to tell and has kept us captivated. We have always understood that 94.7 The Pulse is the heartbeat of the community and provides a voice for the otherwise voiceless in the Geelong and district region. Our show is based around music and this provides the template for us to both entertain and give a voice to the otherwise voiceless. We get continued great pleasure over seeing artists and people who join us go on and progress. We have had some terrific guests over the journey thus far - including established artists and renowned figures such as James Reyne, Diesel, Tim Henwood, Tania Doko, Dave Pace from "Painters & Dockers", Imogen Brough and motor neurone disease legend and Australian Rules football figure Neale Daniher. We have a basic formula for the show. It's two hours of (we think) great tunes that is broken up by a "2 Scoops" (two consecutive songs by the same artist) at about 4.30pm followed by our "4 Sides" (four consecutive songs by the same artist) at the top of the second hour at 5pm. We also do a featured INXS "song of the day" - generally by request - as INXS is a band coveted by the show and the show wouldn't exist without the INXS connection. It gives a lot of pleasure engaging with both the local and international community and the continued feedback we get on the show is very much welcomed. Also, the recognition we received from 94.7 The Pulse in 2012 when we won the award for "Excellence In Music Programming" at the station's annual awards was very humbling and something we treasure. We have in the past and continue to support great local community events and charities - including "Wheel 4 MND", "A Statue For Michael Hutchence", "Encompass Pumpkin Fair", "Geelong's Best Busker", "Geelong's Best Kids Busker" and "Geelong Music Community Collective". We also have become famous around town for photos taken against the green wall in the street out the front of the radio station and in front of the 94.7 The Pulse sign in the studio. Any musicians or other people that would like to get in touch with us about coming onto the show - please do so by contacting "Musik Cube" on Facebook or @TheMusikCube on Twitter or Instagram. We'd love to hear from you. "The Musik Cube" - the home of chartbusting smash hits and tunes from every angle!!! <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/musik-cube/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Musik Cube"></iframe>

Sportsfix is a Saturday sport show which runs from 12.00-1.30pm in the football season and from 9.00-10.00am in the summer sport season. While we do cover the AFL news, the focus is mainly on local sport and local sports identities. Football and Netball are featured in the winter while cricket and other summer sport are covered in the warmer months. The show leads into a direct broadcast of the GDFL match of the day in the footy season and we do an extended coverage of that league to support the connection. Women’s Football is another major focus as the local Cats team prepares for entry into the AFLW in 2019 We have interviewed AFL identities like Leigh Matthews, John Birt, Steven Hocking and David Bolton, while the summer show has a detailed coverage of the Geelong Cricket Club and all local leagues. Rob Cameron anchors the show, Community Radio identity Neil Butler and local athlete Paul Kininburgh also contribute during the footy season and Rob Malcolm assists with the cricket coverage in summer. We are very proud to support local sport and its characters. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/sportsfix/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Sportsfix"></iframe>

How do you describe The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show? Well, to start with, it’s a radio show presented by two blokes - that accounts for about 80% of the program name. But the other word - Chatting - has been chosen deliberately to encompass the program's style. Rather than conducting interviews, the 2 Blokes chat with a range of people from regular correspondents to one-off special guests, representing the sport, music and community sectors. The 2 Blokes Chatting Radio Show - it's how Geelong spends its Saturday mornings. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/2-blokes-chatting/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="2 Blokes Chatting"></iframe>

David’s interest in radio first commenced at age twelve when he ran a cable from his home in Eaglehawk Bendigo to his school mate’s home about a mile away to exchange music & talk. At secondary school, he ran a school based radio called 3WH at the annual school fete, played his top 20 records, charged 0.20 cents a song request to raise funds for the school. David moved to Bacchus Marsh & joined Melton Community Radio in 1984 where he hosted a weekly Saturday afternoon modern music program. He then set up a Community Radio in Bacchus Marsh. The first test broadcast was held in October 1986 & in 2001 a full licence was granted to 3APL on frequency 98.5FM. The station today is known as 98.5 Apple FM. In 2013 David moved to Torquay to live & became involved in Geelong’s Community Radio 94.7 the Pulse. He currently hosts a weekly Sunday afternoon music program from 4 to 6pm called “Steeleworksfm” featuring music from 60’s, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/steeleworks-fm/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Steeleworks FM"></iframe>

SWEETHEARTS OF YESTERDAY is a two hour trip down memory lane. Music from a bye-gone era when music was properly written and orchestrated with no electronic or digital manipulation. The music ranges from the 1920s to the 1960s (with an occasional song outside these years depending on its suitability). Most of the songs are the original recordings of the era and many have the authentic scratches and surface noise you would expect to find on records that have been much loved and played over and over. In keeping with the fact that I’m an old “Fuddy Duddy”, the Sweethearts program has NO Social media links at all (It NEVER WILL ) and it is not available for podcasts. Unfortunately, as almost all of the artists on my playlists are no longer with us, I don’t have interviews with artists as I can’t talk to dead people (wish I could). Sweethearts is the only program that you’ll hear so many of them on. With over 3,000 songs on my playlist library and adding to them on a regular basis, I’m sure to have something that will bring back musical memories for you. Why not join me on our musical journey down memory lane each week every Sunday morning at 6.00 am I know you’ll enjoy it. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/sweethearts-of-yesterday/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Sweethearts of Yesterday"></iframe>

Just Jazz & Jazz On The Pulse Sundays fortnightly 11am – 1pm, Jazz On The Pulse and Just Jazz presented by Ross, John and Peter are fortnightly music programs that present lively and interesting jazz, specialising in music performed by current musicians. You’ll hear trad, straightahead, mainstream, manouche, progressive and other genres of jazz. You’ll hear big bands, small groups, solo performers and many singers. We showcase music from Australia and give you the chance to hear musicians you might not otherwise be aware of. We present music by musicians from Geelong and the Surf Coast whenever we can. But we also give you the opportunity to hear music from musicians who live in other countries, and not just the United States! Europe is a great breeding ground for jazz and we enjoy listening to many current musicians from there. Requests and comments are welcome at thepulsejazz@gmail.com On The Pulse you can hear jazz three times a week: Mondays 10pm – midnight, Tuesdays 3am – 4am and Sundays 11am – 4pm with a bunch of experienced presenters who love what they do. Many of them are musicians you may have heard around Geelong: others are long-time jazz fans. You can also listen to those programs whenever you like using our on-demand stream available on this page! The Geelong Jazz Club is a business subscriber and long-time supporter of our programs. <iframe src="https://omny.fm/shows/jazz-on-the-pulse-that-s-jazz-just-jazz/playlists/podcast/embed?style=cover" allow="autoplay; clipboard-write" width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" title="Jazz on The Pulse /That's Jazz/Just Jazz"></iframe>
