Welcome to the official website for F.T. McKinstry.

My name is Faith. I write fantasy, swords and sorcery, and fairy tales under the imprint Wolf Print Publishing. I like books, forests, winter, cats, aquariums, music and computers. I live in the northwoods of New England, don’t get out much and have one foot in the Otherworld. For years, in the closets of high tech jobs, I created fantasy worlds. Now I spend most of my time there.

I like fantasy on the dark side, including horror involving supernatural beings like vampires and werewolves. I’ll watch anything with a sea monster in it. I love Northern European legend and mythology. Also woven into my stories are threads of plant and animal lore, mythical creatures, medieval warfare, pagan themes, verse and shadows. I’m an insufferable introvert and skilled at hiding it. When I was a kid, I read Lord of the Rings ten times before it was fashionable and yeah, I still cry at the end. So now you know that.

I’ve published the high fantasy series Chronicles of Ealiron and The Fylking; a short story collection called Wizards, Woods and Gods; and a gothic fantasy horror novella called A Northward Gaze.
