1. Ethereum’s AI Push Driven by Ecosystem Demand 🤖

The Ethereum Foundation has formed a new AI team, not by design in its original roadmap, but in response to grassroots demand from ecosystem projects, according to the Foundation’s new AI lead, Davide Crapis. The goal is to support product development and prepare Ethereum to onboard traditional AI developers by showing them how decentralization, governance, and verification can address challenges in AI.🚀

The AI team will span both the protocol and the ecosystem wings of the Ethereum Foundation. Key areas of focus include micropayments (including via stablecoins), on-chain identity, verification, and clarity/support for AI agents. A more detailed roadmap with milestones is expected later in the year.📌

One of the main initiatives already underway is the proposal ERC-8004, co-authored by Crapis, MetaMask’s AI lead Marco De Rossi, and OpenAI’s Jordan Ellis. This proposal aims to enable a trustless mechanism for discovering, choosing, and interacting with AI agents. Despite some perception that Ethereum might be late to the AI/blockchain intersection, Crapis believes experimentation in this space has been ongoing for about two years, and that the timing for the Foundation’s formal involvement is now right.🔗

2. Google’s New AI Payment Protocol with Stablecoins 💵

Google has launched an open-source AI payment protocol that allows AI applications to send and receive payments, including with stablecoins. The protocol was developed in collaboration with Coinbase for stablecoin functionality, along with over 60 other companies such as Salesforce and American Express. The Ethereum Foundation was also consulted during development. 🌍

This protocol builds on Google’s existing Agent2Agent Protocol introduced in April, which enables AI agents to exchange information and interact more efficiently. The update expands its capabilities to make payment systems interoperable, combining traditional rails with newer methods like stablecoins, allowing AI agents to seamlessly transmit value to one another. 🌐

The move highlights the growing importance of stablecoins in connecting AI with decentralized finance and real-world payments. Stablecoins are expected to become one of the most impactful use cases for AI agents, supported by regulatory progress such as the GENIUS Act in the US. The article also points to tools like HTTP 402 “payment required” and Ethereum’s EIP-3009 as key mechanisms that could enable autonomous stablecoin transfers.🔄

PQFIF recommends running automated vulnerability scans across platforms, prioritizing defense for high-stakes systems like institutional wallets and exchanges. Disintermediation and data concerns? Definitely. The project’s legit aims resilience, inclusion, and independence are getting tangled in political pushback and privacy drama. 💡

Meanwhile, their TVL tanked to around $312 million, down from a lofty $1.1 billion in October 2021. And let’s not forget, they had to lay off 35% of their team in October 2024. Major shake-up vibes, for sure.🚀

In response, dYdX unveiled a fresh 2025 roadmap, now piloted under the dYdX Labs brand, and they’re going all-in on innovation. First up: Telegram trading drops in September 2025, powered by their July acquisition of Pocket Protector and the incoming pres, Eddie Zhang. They’ve also rolled out some slick upgrades- partner fee sharing (up to 50% of protocol fees for volume/liquidity contributors), Scale & TWAP orders, and designated proposers to cut trading latency. On the UX side: social logins (think Google/Apple), USDC–DYDX swaps via Osmosis, customizable fee tiers, and instant & free deposits over $100 across major chains. 2. September Will See the Crypto Industry Unlock $4.5 Billion in Tokens🌊

Yo fam, September’s about to get wild. A colossal $4.5 billion in crypto tokens is scheduled to hit the market, according to Tokenomist. That breaks down into about $1.17 billion dropping in one go via cliff unlocks (major supply shock incoming), and $3.36 billion easing out slowly through linear vesting.🌪️
