Following the great success that MudRunner achieved on PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 since its launch way back in 2017, Focus Home Interactive finally came up with its mobile version. Players can expect the same realistic physics, immersive presentation, and challenging off-road simulation that made the game a hit.

Offers the greatest off-road driving experience
For those who still aren’t familiar with the game, MudRunner is a sequel to Spintires—a driving simulation video game created by UK-based developer Oovee Games—which enables the players to take full control of the off-road vehicles as they pass through various locations to complete objectives. It has sold over a million copies, proving that the game’s performance and quality offered are loved by many.
With this mobile port of the game, you’ll be able to drive and explore around the 15 open-world maps. However, unlike its other device version that provides 19 vehicles for PC and 30 vehicles for Nintendo Switch, you can only use about 16 vehicles here. Even so, it can still provide a superb off-road experience for you, as each of them has its own characteristics and attachable equipment.
Its immersive environments are divided into six sandbox maps and nine challenge maps. You are free to choose which path you would like to go down and take the test—terrain, rivers, forests, swamps, mountains, etc. Expect to encounter tons of dangerous conditions, such as muddy terrain and raging rivers, while you’re on your way to achieve your objective and complete your deliveries.
Mechanics and technical features
Moving through Mudrunner is all about how you manage your truck’s mechanical limits. The game features a dynamic fuel system, which means you have to plan your routes around stations or haul a tanker attachment so you don't run dry. When the sun goes down, the day-night cycle limits your visibility, forcing you to rely on your headlights. If the mud gets too deep, you can toggle all-wheel drive or use a winch to pull yourself toward a nearby tree or stump.
Keeping your truck in one piece is just as important as driving it. Your vehicle takes physical damage from hitting rocks or drowning the engine in deep water, and if you break down, you’ll need a crane or service trailer to fix it. The controls feel manual, using a virtual steering wheel and a gear slider to shift between drive and low-range. These tools are the only way to keep your heavy cargo moving when the terrain tries to stop you.
Compromised visuals
While MudRunner maintains the impressive physics of its PC counterpart, the graphics take a noticeable hit. The visual quality is less detailed, making environments appear less immersive. Additionally, the game lacks customization options for graphics settings, preventing players from optimizing visuals based on their device’s capabilities.
