Ziesha Belle

Au Ra - Raen ♀
Nameday: 3rd Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon
Age: 27
Early Life Ziesha was fairly sure that she’d been born in Thavnair, though she had only the haziest memories of her time there. When Zie was still very small, she and her mother had left Thavnair, and moved to the bustling port of Limsa Lominsa, for reasons about which she could only speculate. Her only remaining memories of her mother were the scent of amber, an impression of long hair, of a shade similar to her own, and a huskily low voice humming counterpoint to a stringed instrument. Her father she never knew. When she was a little sprout, she used to weave wild stories about who her daddy had been, and how he was still looking for her. She knew better than that these days. Most likely he was either dead, or never even knew of her existence. So much the better, she supposed. It left her free of any parental obligation. When Zie had been only a couple of summers old, something had happened to her mother. She had been too young to remember more than a vague sense of panicked chaos, and being carried in unfamiliar arms, clad in rough leather and mail. After that was a long, slow trip to a place that was warm and dusty, and a city that smelled of sand rather than salt. In her memory, there was another blur of panicked chaos, and another set of unfamiliar, but much kinder arms took her to the place that she would learn to call home. The foundlings home was, overall, a mostly cheerful place, presided over by a matronly lalafellin woman. Bibileu was a kindly soul who had made it her life’s goal to love all of the lost souls of Ul’dah, giving each child in her care the best start that she could manage, and as much love -and hearty cooking- as they needed. When she arrived, Ziesha had been old enough to know the name her mother had called her, but if she'd ever had a surname, little Zie didn't know it. So, Bibi took to calling her young charge Ziesha Belle, whenever a proper name was needed. Slowly but surely, Ul’dah, while not the place of her birth, became her home in truth. When Ziesha was in her teens, Bibileu helped her to find work with the gladiators guild. Zie took to it like a fish to water, soaking up everything around her, and wanting more. Aldis rapidly became the uncle she’d never had, sharing a laugh, or a small snack whenever he saw her. He soon began teaching her small things in spare moments, just a few simple moves for self defense, and to help the diminutive au’ra girl protect herself out on her own. As soon as she came of age, Bibi gave her consent for Ziesha to begin training with the Gladiators Guild in earnest. Ziesha devoted herself, body and soul to the study of her newfound craft, rapidly rising through the ranks, and eventually joining the city’s Paladin order.
