Scott Gottlieb

Partner, New Enterprise Associates

Scott Gottlieb, who led the FDA during Donald Trump’s first presidency, made waves by opposing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for health secretary. Gottlieb was among Trump’s most popular appointees in his first administration, gaining favor from lawmakers of both parties before leaving the post in 2019. Known for his science commentary during the Covid pandemic, Gottlieb is still a frequent presence on CNBC. Gottlieb is a longtime partner at New Enterprises Associates and a board member of both Pfizer and Illumina.
