 Through NAAG endorsement letters, attorneys general:Â
- Provide invaluable insight to the federal government. Â
- Voice their support or dissent for federal legislation and policy. Â
- Communicate recommendations or requests to industry groups or companies.Â
For NAAG to endorse a legislative initiative or a specific piece of legislation, a bipartisan group of at least 36 attorneys general must submit their approval. While NAAG is a nonpartisan organization, it engages in policy advocacy only when an issue has bipartisan support from a majority of attorneys general.Â
