Everything is not always fine…
Transitioning from the military back into civilian life can be stressful and awaken anxieties and other issues. Even if you transitioned years ago, these things have a way of resurfacing during times of high stress. Acknowledging, searching, and finding resources to help can also be a challenge.
Here are some excellent resources designed to support veterans who are struggling with PTSD:
1. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
• Veterans Crisis Line: Free, confidential support 24/7 for veterans in crisis.

• VA PTSD Program Locator: Helps veterans find local VA PTSD treatment programs.

• PTSD Treatment Options: Includes evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
2. National Center for PTSD
• Offers a wealth of #resources for veterans, their families, and clinicians.

• PTSD Coach App: A mobile app to help manage symptoms, track progress, and connect with support.

3. Nonprofit Organizations
• Wounded Warrior Project (WWP): Provides mental health programs, peer support, and professional counseling for veterans with PTSD.

In addition to these resources, there are also the Big 4 Veteran organizations Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), The American Legion, AMVETS American Veterans, and DAV (Disabled American Veterans) that can assist with getting a veteran in touch with the right contact.
Encouraging veterans to seek professional help, connect with peers, and access these resources can make a significant difference in managing PTSD, Anxiety, etc...improving quality of life.
