There will be unanimous consensus that physicians should be reimbursed based on how well we care for patients. But when it comes to defining the metrics for how well we care for patient's physicians across various disciplines can never reach any consensus. As a result, we fall back to being reimbursed for how much we care for patients. If the entire physician community moves as one entity and takes collective responsibility for the health of the individual this is achievable.
