Signal that you're open to work

- Did you know that members who add the #OpenToWork photo frame are 40% more likely to get in mails from recruiters, but that's not all. They're also 20% more likely to receive messages from the LinkedIn community. So what's #OpenToWork all about? It's your signal to the world that you're actively seeking new opportunities, and you're not alone. Over 46 million members worldwide have used #OpenToWork to kickstart their job search. Plus, turning on #OpenToWork on your LinkedIn profile doubles your chances of receiving messages from recruiters. #OpenToWork lets you specify the types of roles you're interested in, your location, and even when you're ready to start. Ready to make your next move? Alright, let's have some fun and watch how this works with our friend James. He's on the hunt for a full-time or contract web designer job in Australia. Welcome to James' profile. To get started setting up his job preferences, he'll click the Open to work button at the top of his profile, and select Finding a new job. In the pop-up window that appears, James can specify the types of jobs he's searching for. Since he's in web design, he'll add web designer and graphic web designer for now. Under location types, he can add how he wants to work. Since he's searching for Hybrid and Remote jobs, he'll select those two. He also has the ability to specify his preferred onsite locations if he comes into an office as well as his preferred remote location. For onsite, he'll add Greater Sydney Area and for remote, he'll add the APAC region. He can also show how quickly he wants to start a new role under Start date. Since he's looking for immediate work, he'll click Immediately. In addition, he can add his employment type. Since he's open to Full-time jobs and Contract jobs, he'll select those two. Finally, he can adjust his visibility settings to choose who sees that he's open to work. If he selects recruiters only, it will privately share only to recruiters and won't add the open to work green photo stripe to his profile photo. By selecting All LinkedIn members, that will automatically add the green #OpenToWork stripe on his profile photo, so others can instantly see he's open to new opportunities and help out. For James, he's going to share with all LinkedIn members. He can also click Learn more about your privacy to see how this information gets shared. Last but not least, James will click Save and ta-da. His profile photo now shows up with the green #OpenToWork stripe, and his job search preferences have been saved. A small step like showing you're #OpenToWork can unlock a world of fresh possibilities and connect you with your LinkedIn community. After all, sometimes all it takes is one person to open one door, and that could be the game changer for your career.
