- [Bonnie] Hi, Bonnie Biafore here. One scheduling best practice is that work tasks should have at least one predecessor and one successor. A guideline is that tasks missing a predecessor, successor, or both should be less than 5% of the schedule's work activities. In this tip, we'll calculate the percentage of work tasks missing dependencies. Before we do that, though, something that started happening recently with Project is that you see this hashtag error sometimes in the summary rows for custom fields. There's a workaround that I've found. If you right click the heading for that custom field and then choose Custom Fields on the shortcut menu, that opens up Custom Fields and selects that field. Just click the Formula button to open up the formula dialog box, then click OK, and you'll see that the calculation is done. Now, we're going to count the tasks without predecessors or successors.
