- [Instructor] To keep things simple, we'll be using Docker to run our Splunk server and to simulate web servers and generate logs. Docker desktop is free for educational use and is available at docker.com. You should see a link somewhere on the main page. As of this recording, it's right here in the center. It says download Docker desktop. You can just scroll down and select the right version for your operating system. Linux users also have the option of using the Docker engine, which is free and open source. If you're going to do that, just be sure you're using the latest version available from docker.com because sometimes the one that comes with your operating system can be a bit older and it might not work correctly for this course. Once you have Docker installed, go to hub.docker.com and search for Splunk. And you should find one of the top search results will be Splunk slash Splunk.
