- Successful informal leadership is often dependent on having a strong internal network of support. If you're raising your hand for opportunities, there will come a point where you hit a roadblock and you're going to need help. The people who get support have strong relationships with a lot of people far beyond their immediate team. Now, if you're new to your role, if you're working remotely, or you're working for a huge company, building an internal network of support can feel like a tall order, because you can't just coincidentally share an elevator with everybody, but it's still worth pursuing.
