Inserting special characters

- [Instructor] Quick, tell me what the keyboard shortcut is to type the registered trademark symbol, or how about an N dash or an M dash? If you don't use these characters very often, then there's no reason to clutter your head with trying to remember the shortcuts because InDesign has a couple of features that make inserting special characters a breeze. I'm going to zoom in on this magazine article by choosing the type tool clicking in here, and then pressing command two or control two on Windows. Now let's add a special character after the company name here. To find the character, I'll go to the type menu, come down here to insert special character, and then look inside the symbol sub menu. You can find many of the characters that people often need, such as bullets, copyright symbols, ellipses, and so on. Here's the one I want, the registered trademark symbol.
