Maintain a spotless work environment

A clean restaurant makes everything run smoother. When a restaurant gets messy, service slows down, orders back up, things get missed and worst of all, you risk health and safety violations. But having a clean restaurant isn't about doing a deep scrub when you and your team finally have time. Because as you know, that time is going to be really hard to find in service work. Having a clean restaurant happens through daily routines and habits. Like mine, your restaurant probably has a checklist of cleaning tasks that need to be done every shift or every day. That's a good start, but for excellent service work, it's not going to be enough. What I recommend for you is a clean as you go mindset. Wipe the spills the second they happen. Take out the trash before it gets full. And please don't leave things just lying around. Ask yourself throughout the shift what can I tidy up now instead of later?
