The best food service workers don't just do the basics. They find ways to make every guest visit special. And the truth is that you don't need to do anything huge to leave a lasting impression. Most of the time, it's the small things, that little extra effort that makes someone feel like they had excellent service. Maybe it's remembering someone's regular order or saying welcome back when you recognize a face. Maybe it's noticing a birthday balloon and saying, thanks for celebrating with us today. Or bringing over extra napkins for a big family eating together. That kind of stuff cost nothing but a little bit of awareness. You just have to be present, look people in the eyes.
