- [Instructor] Now that you know a little bit about grading objects, let's create some of them to define a new pond for our project. To get started, I'll go to the home tab of the ribbon and click the grading menu and then grading creation tools. That brings up the grading creation tools toolbar and starting on the left end, I'm going to set my grading group. I'll click the tool, choose the site that I want my new grading group to be included in and I'll pick pond for that. I'll click okay and then a dialogue pops up, where I can define the new grading group. I'm going to call it pond as well. So we'll have a grading group called pond, within a site also called pond. Notice that we have the automatic surface creation option turned on. If it's not turned on, please do turn it on. I'll click okay, and now, since we're automatically creating a surface we need to tell Civil 3D a little bit about that surface. What's…
