I'm sure the view I get through linked in is heavily biased by my skewer network and the algorithm, but... As far as I can tell there is a big spike in demand for engineers with 8-15 years experience at the senior/staff borderline, and a drop in demand for junior engineers. I'm assuming this is because AI tools are making the senior engineers much more efficient. Small jobs that would have been given to an intern or new grad can now be done swiftly by AI with less supervision than a human would need. As AI first senior developers are doubling, quadrupling or more their efficiency the economically valuable work that would have been done by junior engineers is disappearing. Am I imagining this trend or are others seeing it too? What longer term impacts will this have on the job market?

If you use Scheduled Functions on Netlify, this one is for you. You can now manually trigger your functions from the logs page. If coding agents struggle to work with your code so will humans. Agent friendly code bases, are also human friendly. Human co-pilots use agents to make your code base more agent and human friendly.

https://lnkd.in/gFajdc6G Great article Philipp Schmid! Senior devs are struggling to develop native agentic systems because they’re trying to code away the ambiguity. But in agentic system design, you can’t "if/else" your way to a success. At Switchboard, we’ve spent months sweating out the tug of war between predictable logic and LLM creativity inside of automated workflows. The hardest part? Knowing where to draw the line. Too much determinism builds in brittleness. Too much non-determinism gives you a "black box" that customers and architects can’t trust. My current rule of thumb: Use deterministic logic for the hard-rails (must execute logic, tenant segregation, etc) and non-deterministic logic for decisions we would normally think of a human owning on the other side of a mouse and keyboard. We want to build towards systems that are resilient, adaptive, and given enough reins to show emergent creative problem solving under controlled risk.
