    Leader of Student Club "Sport"

    As leader of the student's sport club at a software engineering institute my mission was to get people more involved in moving their body and burning some calories.
    We started to organize a university-wide ping-pong and foosball league (foosball is a huge thing in Germany) and tournaments as well as regular events to introduce rather 'exotic' sports to the students (e.g. bouldering, kayaking, ultimate frisbee, go-karting, etc.).
    Also we were responsible to host the yearly sports…

    As leader of the student's sport club at a software engineering institute my mission was to get people more involved in moving their body and burning some calories.
    We started to organize a university-wide ping-pong and foosball league (foosball is a huge thing in Germany) and tournaments as well as regular events to introduce rather 'exotic' sports to the students (e.g. bouldering, kayaking, ultimate frisbee, go-karting, etc.).
    Also we were responsible to host the yearly sports competitions at the HPI summer festival with 2000 guests.
    Besides that, we improved the infrastructure for sports and social activities using a rather small budget of 1000 € per year by buying new equipment.

    In a group of 5 students we built a mobile, laser-based device to enable haptic and auditive interaction with 2D-spatial contents for the blind
    My contribution during the project was making the device interactive and enabling application development. Therefore I
    - reverse engineered the protocol of the infrared touch sensor,
    - designed a communication protocol between the microcomputer in the device and an Android smartphone and
    - conceptualized and implemented a d3.js/Android…
