From a conversation to a global sim racing platform. 🚀 This March 2026, we’re celebrating 10 years of Simucube 1. What began with Simucube 1 in 2016 grew into something much bigger - a platform trusted by sim racers, professionals, and teams around the world. Today, Simucube powers some of the most advanced sim racing setups in the world. From wheelbases to ActivePedals to the Link Platform, the vision has kept evolving. But the story began much more simply. Yet there’s two things that haven’t changed: Simucube 1 is still supported today and Simucube keeps on pushing what’s possible. Aki Korhonen, Simucube’s Senior Hardware Engineer, has been part of the company’s journey for over ten years. What started as small freelance projects alongside his day job eventually turned into a full-time role as the company’s third employee. “One of the early projects was the original SimuCUBE 1 product. It was essentially the first step toward our own simulator products and the beginning of the external brand,” Aki remembers. Nearly a decade later, Aki has had his hands in some of Simucube’s most significant product developments, always with a focus on durability, long lifecycle, and engineering excellence. From small group doing everything themselves to a globally recognized sim racing brand, Aki Korhonen has witnessed, and helped build, the entire journey. And at the heart of it all remains the same principle that guided the industrial motor controller design to company’s very first sim racing product Simucube 1: build it to last. Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Tampere Formula Student to Simucube. Fully student-led, the team designs and builds a new Formula Student race car every year while managing the entire project themselves, from engineering and development to partnerships and fundraising. Competing internationally, they gain invaluable hands-on experience alongside their studies, a strong example of how real responsibility and collaboration help students grow into future professionals. Always inspiring to meet such driven and talented communities. #SimRacing

How far can a passion for quality and high technology take you in your career? Vesa Saastamoinen joined Simucube after a long career in audio engineering, where he worked with cutting-edge technology and a global client base. With a Master of Science in Technology from Tampere University of Technology, Vesa had built strong expertise before coming across Simucube’s job opening for an electronics designer and deciding to apply. Today, Vesa works as Head of R&D, focusing on product development, planning, strategic management, and solving various daily challenges. What motivates him is the ability to work with high-quality products and truly focus on excellence without unnecessary compromises. “Working with high-tech genuinely means there are more resources available for design and implementation. This way, we don’t have to sacrifice quality or make compromises in the implementation.
