During Engineers Week, students from Carnegie Mellon University brought their best ideas to our Nashville office to tackle some of today’s most pressing engineering challenges as part of our partnership with Civil & Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. At the partnership's inaugural Innovation Hackathon, cross-disciplinary teams of graduate and undergraduate students, working engineers and CMU researchers pitched innovative solutions they developed over the semester. From envisioning more sustainable data centers to addressing the rising global demand on energy systems, these bright minds showcased the future of engineering innovation. The three-day event ended with a live pitch competition where teams presented their proposals to Gresham Smith leadership.
