Staff and students across our Catholic schools celebrated #ShroveTuesday with delicious pancakes. It was a time to share and reflect as we prepare for Lent through prayer, fasting, and helping those in need. Many schools raised funds for Project Compassion, the annual Caritas Australia fundraiser. We look forward to sharing photos from the launch of #ProjectCompassion in our diocese soon. ✝️

This week 53 Education Support Officers from Catholic schools from across our diocese started their first intensive study week of 2026 on their journey to become qualified teachers. Two groups are diving deep into study. Last year’s intake is now in its second year of study and a second intake is commencing first year. The three-year Accelerated Bachelor of Education program is a DOSCEL sponsored study initiative in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology. The program aims to address the pressing issue of teacher shortages by tailoring a teacher education program specifically for current Education Support staff working within the Diocese.
