Meet Abdullahi, who's learning from Somalia 🇸🇴 "I took the Google IT Support and Health Care IT Support Professional Certificates on Coursera during my university years. What drew me in was the platform’s credibility—partnering with Google, IBM, and Microsoft—and the flexibility it offered, especially important coming from a developing country with limited access to advanced learning. "My goal was to build practical IT skills to grow as a software developer and ICT expert. Balancing studies, work, and volunteering at SIMAD University wasn’t easy, but Coursera’s self-paced format allowed me to learn in the early mornings and on weekends. "These courses transformed my career. They gave me the confidence to mentor others, lead tech initiatives, and eventually take on roles like Director of Media and Communication at the SIMAD Alumni Association. I've since worked on IoT projects, collaborated at high-level conferences, and earned further certifications from Google, Microsoft, and IBM. "My advice: pick a course that aligns with your goals and stay consistent. Learn by doing, take notes, and apply your knowledge through real projects."
