How do I post an award notice for a contract opportunity?

You must have the Contracting Administrator or Contracting Officer role to post award notices in SAM.gov. A Contracting Specialist can post notices if the administrator has enabled permissions.

To post an award notice in SAM.gov:

  1. Sign in to your SAM.gov account.
  2. From your Workspace, locate the “Contract Opportunities” widget, then select Add Contract Opportunity.
  3. Select Award Notice as the type of notice and create a title.
  4. Next, select the office awarding the contract. We recommend you use the advanced feature to search for your office. You will need to contact your agency federal hierarchy administrator if you do not see your organization in the hierarchy dropdowns.
  5. You may choose to relate this notice to another notice.
  6. You will be asked to provide the details of the award including:
    • Date of Award
    • Contract Award Number
    • Unique Entity ID of the awardee, which will pre-populate the name and address
    • Total Contract Value
    • The classification section will provide fields to select set-aside status for your opportunity as well as the applicable NAICS codes, Product Service Codes (PSCs), and place of performance
    • Enter a description that is consistent with  information reported to the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS)
    • Add attachments and links
    • Provide a Point of Contact (POC)
  7. Once you have completed the form, select Publish. If you do not have publish rights, you will only be able to save the draft. You will need to have a contracting officer log in on your behalf to publish the notice.
