    Pre-Sale Questions:

    1. Does your plugin also support PayPal for my shop customers, or would I need a separate plugin for PayPal?
    2. Can payouts be made directly to a PayPal account instead of a bank account?
    3. Which services are available and activatable in Switzerland, such as credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.?

    Thank you!

    Hi @jenomal,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions! I’m happy to help clarify how PayPal and payment services work with our plugins for your WooCommerce store.

    1. WooPayments does not include PayPal as a payment method. To accept PayPal payments from your shop customers, you would need to install the dedicated PayPal Payments plugin, which integrates PayPal seamlessly into your checkout process.
    2. Currently, payouts via WooPayments are made directly to linked bank accounts. Payouts to PayPal accounts are not supported at this time. With PayPal Payments, funds typically go to your PayPal business account, and from there you can transfer to your bank account.
    3. WooPayments supports various payment methods in Switzerland, including major credit cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Activating these options depends on meeting certain criteria and your WooPayments account setup, but they are generally available for Swiss merchants.

I’d love to learn more about your store and what you’re aiming to achieve. This way, I can help recommend the ideal payment solutions and perhaps other WooCommerce services to help grow your business.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you very much for your reply.
I’m looking for a provider or plugin that allows offering multiple payment methods with a modern checkout experience. Ideally, the funds should go directly to a PayPal account instead of a bank account.

This way, I can manually decide when and how to transfer the money to my bank, and I have everything in one place — instead of having to manage two or three different plugins.

    Hi @jenomal,

Thank you for your thoughtful follow-up and for sharing your preference to have multiple payment methods with a modern checkout experience. All while receiving funds directly into your PayPal account for easy manual transfers.

Given your goals, the best option currently is to use the PayPal plugin alongside WooCommerce. This plugin allows you to offer PayPal as a payment method where funds are deposited directly into your PayPal business account, letting you control when and how to move money to your bank.

To provide multiple payment options with a seamless checkout experience while centralizing transactions in PayPal, here’s what I recommend:

    • Install and configure PayPal for your store. This covers PayPal standard, Pay Later options, and more.
    • Enable additional payment methods supported by PayPal such as credit/debit cards through that same plugin for a modern, unified checkout experience.
    • If you want other alternative payment methods (like Apple Pay, Google Pay) integrated within the checkout process and seamless for customers, consider using WooPayments alongside, but keep in mind WooPayments payouts go to your bank account rather than PayPal.

Currently, there isn’t a single plugin that routes all payment method funds directly to PayPal except the PayPal plugin itself. Managing two plugins (WooPayments and PayPal Payments) is typically necessary if you want a wider range of payment methods along with PayPal.

I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.
