Remembering is the discipline. Hope is the result.

We live in a world that moves too quickly and forgets too easily. We Have This Hope is a publication and podcast designed to help you slow down, remember, and engage with God’s good work in the world.

What You’ll Find Here

When you join the WHTH community, you aren’t just getting another email. It’s a weekly invitation into what I affectionately call the art of remembering.

  • Stack Studies: Deep-dive Bible studies delivered directly to your inbox so you can study Scripture in the margins of your busy life.

  • Spiritual Formation Resources: Curated resources and reflections on the intersection of grief, hope, the life of faith, and Scripture.

  • The Podcast: Interview-style stories of women looking backward at the work of God in their ordinary lives. More of a listener? You’ll also get audio narrations of essays & reflections.

  • So I Won’t Forget: My favorite (and most popular) monthly series—a curated practice in the art of remembering. These are memoir-style essays reflecting on 3 things I want to remember from the past month. Otherwise known as me practicing what I’m preaching.

Meet Emily

Hi friend, I am the voice and the words behind We Have This Hope. This space is the overflow of a long journey following God and the intersection of all the things I care deeply about—hope, grief, honest words, stories, and scripture.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with a background in mental health and medical social work. This will show up occasionally in some of the content here. In late 2025, I started something I said I’d never do again: school. I’m currently working on a Masters in Theological Studies at Fuller Seminary. Will it take me forever to finish? Maybe. Am I excited and feeling nerdy in the best way about it? Yes and definitely yes.

I’m also a wife and mother to 3 wild and wonderful kids who keep my calendar and heart very full. When I’m not collecting stories, raising humans or studying scripture, you can find me with an iced coffee and earbuds in listening to an embarrassingly broad assortment of podcasts. I’m so very grateful you’re here.

Join the WHTH Community

By subscribing, you’re joining the 500+ community of people committed to the beautiful work of going slowly in the same direction—bearing witness to God’s work in our lives and telling others about it.

All of what you see here is done in the quiet office hours of my day while the kids are at school. When you subscribe, it’s sort of like saying “Hey, I like what you’re doing, let me buy you a coffee so you can keep doing it.” It also means the world to me and I’ll do my best to honor your encouragement with meaningful content.

P.S. I promise to treat your inbox like I want mine to be treated.
