Fish with friends in this simulation game
WEBFISHING is a free simulation game from lamedeveloper where you play as an adorable animal character who has to collect as many fish types as you can. In this fishing game, you have the ability to play offline by yourself or with friends in multiplayer mode.

The mechanics of WEBFISHING are quite similar to Cat Goes Fishing, however, in this indie title, you can only view the surface. This means that you can’t choose what type of fish to catch, so each pull will result in a random fish type.
Casual and adorable
WEBFISHING’s art style is quite reminiscent of the popular Animal Crossing series, which also features adorable furry animals that act similarly to humans. As you progress within the game, you can collect items to customize your character, including clothing items and cosmetics. You can also collect up to 40 different fish types, each with varying lengths and sizes, as well.
The controls are pretty easy to grasp, so new players can quickly get the hang of it. One of the game’s largest selling points is that you can play in multiplayer mode, as well. You can choose to connect to the official server — which allows you to play with up to 64 players from all over the world — or create your own private server for you and your friends.
However, do take note that the official global server is under maintenance, so you can only enjoy the game with your own groups for the time being. There is also an in-game chat box for you to interact with other players. Another thing to keep in mind is that you will need to grant special permissions for unknown sources to allow the game to run smoothly.
Patch 1.07
WEBFISHING releases its 1.07 update to foster a better gaming experience for all of its users. Hence, the developer has made some improvements in different areas of the game, starting with Fixed Code-Only lobbies accommodating the public again. Consequently, connecting through codes has also been refined, making it easier for players to link up whenever they want.
Players also no longer have to worry about not appearing, as this issue has been fixed. In addition, saving your progress has been handled as well, and they should be transferred to the latest version without difficulties. Toxicity, on the other hand, has no place in the game. This is why kicks and bans have now been consistent, enabling the game to build a toxic-free community.
As for the actual game, there are small but noticeable changes made. For instance, the fog for the “Scary” view distance and the Borderless Windowed mode have been modified. Plus, if you feel icky about props being placed in the wrong places even if they're big or small, the developers took the time to fix this. Lastly, the Boombox is now affected by the Music audio slider.
Is it worth it?
Players may be disappointed to know that they cannot play with new friends on WEBFISHING’s official server but they can still enjoy the multiplayer experience by creating their own servers. Playing alone can also be a fun experience, as well. With a large number of fish and customization items to collect, there’s a lot for you to look forward to, regardless if you’re playing alone or with friends.
