This is an article i wrote several years back while i was living in San Antonio, Texas. It was in an issue of La Voz de Esperanza which is a bi-monthly magazine done by the mujeres at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center. La Voz is just that, a voice for the voiceless and those who are ignored and victimized by the injustices of corruption and bureaucracy. I am forever grateful to the mujeres at Esperanza for allowing me to write this for La Voz. It was an honor to be alongside them and watch them work tirelessly in the struggle for human equality and justice.
The article still applies. I am always looking for elders to interview! Traveling is hard to do these days for the lack of money. Construction took a hard blow with the economy ‘crash’. I work in construction; so I know! I hope you enjoy the article! Please leave any comments. Thank you for your time and consideration.
