On Saturday the 28th of March, Lauriston farm is hosting a Festival of fermentation & Pickle Party.
As part of the event we are organising a fair, a banquet, a place to share and learn and enjoy pickles, relishes, ferments and all types of ferments from all our cultures and culinary backgrounds. We will put up a big marquee with tables and folk will be able to walk through and try samples of lots of different preserved foods.
If you would like to make an offering and bring a jam,pickle, relish, kombucha, hot sauce, ferment, cordial, chutney or whatever else you like to make, please fill in the form below!
Logistics:
Please arrive at least
30 minutes before the start of the event - at 13:00 to get set up. We will send you all an email
with more details on how to arrive/ get here etc.
What we will provide: - Tables in a marquee
- Bread, oatcakes, crackers etc.
- Serving spoons, compostable utlery and small takeaway containers so folk can walk around trying different samples
- Laminated printed signs saying what the offerings are and their ingredients (especially allergens)
What to bring:
- Your preserve to be shared, we are expecting about 100 people, so the more the merrier. Large quantities of one thing that can be tried by many people are probably better than smaller quantities of many things.
- A name for the preserve and a list of ingredients and allergens - this is crucial.
- If you can: a small table cloth or something decorative to make the tables look cute/ create a display for your offering
No sales just sharing:This is not a licensed market and unfortunately we cannot allow participants to sell food. However if you run a small business or project and want to bring promotional materials, you are very welcome to.
Compensation:
We have a small pot of money available to compensate a few participants up to £50 for participating. Let us know if you would like to receive compensation and we will be in touch and see what we can do to help with some or all of your costs.
