https://tinyurl.com/BBC-Privacy-Notice Clinic InformationWe are a neurodevelopmental assessment clinic specialising in multiply occurring neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism, ADHD and tics. We also specialise in the physical health problems that can be associated with neurodivergence and symptomatic joint hypermobility. We are a diagnostic and consultation clinic and therefore we do not prescribe medication, although after your assessment we can make suggestions for your GP or refer you on to other providers who do offer prescription services.
We see patients face-to-face on Saturdays in Hove and so have relatively limited capacity and therefore the waiting time estimate is approximately 12 months. However, we are planning to expand the clinic to include virtual assessments, which would increase our capacity. If you are willing to see a colleague of Dr Eccles within the clinic then this also might mean you can be seen much sooner. Please note that we see adults (aged 18+) only and due to our insurance, although we can see patients from other countries, they must travel to the UK for their assessment, even if it is virtual.

Waiting List RegistrationOnce you have completed this form, you will be added to our waiting list. Approximately every 3 months we will contact people on the waiting list to arrange assessments for the upcoming 3 months.
Whilst you are on the waiting list, we will keep in touch with you via our newsletter which will contain resources you might find helpful and some of the latest research being done by Dr Eccles and her colleagues.
Clinic RegistrationWhen you are toward the top of the waiting list, we will contact you and check you are still interested in an assessment, and if so, we will ask you to complete several forms. These will include terms & conditions agreement and screening tools for individual neurodevelopmental conditions.
Following our review of these forms, we will advise you what type of assessment we recommend for you as many people do not realise that they might have multiple neurodevelopmental conditions. In our experience, neurodevelopmental assessments are much more accurate and produce far greater benefit for you if we consider all potential aspects of your neurodivergence.
Assessment ProcessOnce we have agreed the nature of your assessment with you, we will offer you some dates for appointments. If you have any concerns about the assessment or need any reassurance about how it will work, we will be more than happy to contact you and talk it through with you nearer the time in greater detail.
Prior to attending you will need to complete some more forms to help assist us in your assessment, these will include developmental and general health questionnaires.
We will then meet and discuss your potential neurodevelopmental differences with you in a conversational and relaxed way, listening and aiming to understand you without judgement.
Assessment OutcomeWe will be able to inform you at the end of your consultation any diagnoses we believe you have and then aim to produce a draft report within 1-2 weeks. The report will contain ‘formulations’ that we hope will help you understand yourself and your life better as well as recommendations on how you might be able to improve things. We will provide a formal diagnostic confirmation letter with limited personal information for you to use as evidence for an employer, university or similar.
Once you have received your draft report, we will invite you to email us and inform us of any inaccuracies before we send a finalised report to both you and your GP. For neurodevelopmental assessments we will issue one diagnostic report and confirmation letter regardless of the number of conditions that we diagnose you with and cannot produce separate reports for different diagnoses. However, if you have a brain-body assessment that will be in a separate report.
Thank you very much again for considering requesting an assessment at the Dr Bendy Brain Clinic. Please complete this form to be added to our waiting list. We look forward to seeing you in our clinic soon!https://www.communicare.training/about-us/
