As GW students, alumni, faculty, and community members we are calling on George Washington University to provide medication abortion on campus through the Student Health Center. 

GW could reduce barriers for students accessing abortion by providing medication abortion through the Student Health Center, but despite repeated asks has chosen not to provide the basic reproductive healthcare students deserve.

As GW students we know firsthand that far too many barriers limit abortion access on campus.

Since the Dobbs decision, abortion care has grown harder to access across the country. GW has a responsibility as a member of the DC community to not further burden abortion providers in the area who are already struggling to meet the demand.

Medication abortion is safe, effective, and a normal part of healthcare. GW should treat it as such by providing it in the Student Health Center.

This is a very reasonable request. Colleges across the country already provide medication abortion in their student health centers, including all 33 public universities in California, public colleges in New York and Massachusetts, and private universities Barnard and The New School in New York City.
