Of friendship and courage
Thesaurus takes place in the fantasy land of Sandflats Canyon in Oakleaf Village, coexisting with Golems and receiving their aid. Those of the purest hearts are also an opportunity to live in the magical utopia of Elysium. You play as Joan, whose best friend, Krista, was chosen for said opportunity and honor. However, you come to know there is more to the story than you realize.
Embark on a journey through various locations across the land, meeting a colorful cast of characters turned allies along the way. Battle different enemies in tactical turn-based combat using skills and spells. This is also where the gameplay falls a bit short, as it is quite simplistic and doesn't feature any special mechanics or systems compared to other games of its kind.
Classic JRPG experience
To sum up, Thesaurus is a charming nod to classic JRPGs that does a good job of replicating the experience for modern players. The art style is impressive, and the story is interesting. It could have taken liberties with the combat to make it more engaging and more in line with modern standards. Nevertheless, this is still a solid game that any fan of the genre will like.
