There Is No Place Like The Riveter. 

I built The Riveter because I needed it. I wasn’t inspired at work after a 10 year legal career. I’d never spoken on a stage and my social media profiles featured pictures of my babies.  I wanted to make money on my own but didn’t know how. I set out to build a lifestyle business but became an accidental founder, raising $30 million in venture capital, scaling to 100+ employees, and opening 10 coworking and event spaces. 

Then the pandemic came and I had to turn the lights off, literally. Two weeks later, I found out that my husband was the target of a federal grand jury investigation and we were rocketed into a wild world of legal drama, sensational headlines and a future forever changed for our family. 

I had to figure out how to pivot. Again. Somehow, I did it. I can now say I’ve launched multiple brands, built social media audiences totaling over 500,000 by showing up on TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and X. I’ve turned ideas into millions, written columns for Forbes and Inc., and hosted a popular iHeart podcast. I have more tricks up my sleeve, too. 

My story might be a bit extreme - but we are all living in a world with uncertainty and where hard things make us figure out how to rebuild. As I’ve navigated these setbacks, I’ve figured out that the ability to tell your story can save your life. It can help you build a business, change industries, build a profitable personal brand, or help you to secure clients and speaking opportunities. You just have to learn how to tell the world and grow an audience to listen.
