In these Terms, “we”, “us”, “our” and “PHA” refer to The People’s Alliance C.I.C. trading as The People’s Health Alliance.

3. Eligibility and Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to:

  • Register as a practitioner in our directory
  • Purchase practitioner listings
  • Make purchases from our shop
  • Sign up as a volunteer
  • Create an account on any of our websites

If you are under 18, you may browse our public pages but may not register for any services or make any purchases.

4. User Accounts and Security

4.1 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details and for all activities that occur under your account.

4.2 You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and keep this information updated.

4.3 You must not share your account credentials with others or allow anyone else to access your account.

4.4 You must notify us immediately at https://the-pha.org/hello if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

4.5 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for security reasons.

5. Practitioner Directory

5.1 Practitioner Registration

Practitioners who register with the directory will be asked to provide:

  • Name, business name and address
  • Phone number and email address
  • Professional details and area of expertise
  • Education establishment and qualifications (with supporting documents where applicable)
  • Regulatory body or professional association details (if applicable)
  • Payment information for listing fees

5.2 Accuracy of Information

You agree that all information you provide will be true, accurate, and current at all times. You must notify us promptly of any changes to your details so we can keep the directory trustworthy and up to date.

5.3 Practitioner Independence

Practitioners listed with PHA act independently and autonomously. The directory is offered for informational purposes only. Practitioners are fully responsible for:

  • Their professional conduct and standards
  • The accuracy of their qualifications and credentials
  • Their professional insurance (where applicable)
  • The content of their profiles
  • Their compliance with all relevant regulations and professional standards

5.4 PHA’s Role and Limitations

PHA does not supervise, regulate, monitor, verify, or endorse the practitioners listed in our directory. We:

  • Do not verify qualifications or credentials
  • Do not monitor practitioner conduct or services
  • Do not mediate between practitioners and their clients
  • Cannot accept liability for any outcomes, loss, injury, complaint, or claim arising from communication with or treatment from any practitioner

5.5 Practitioner Content Responsibility

Practitioners are responsible for all content they submit to the website, including:

  • Profile descriptions and claims
  • Images and photographs
  • Qualifications and credentials
  • External links
  • Communications with directory users

Practitioners confirm that they will only upload content that:

  • They own or have permission to use
  • Does not breach the intellectual property rights of others
  • Does not contain false, misleading, or deceptive information
  • Complies with all applicable laws and regulations

5.6 Practitioner Liability

If a complaint, legal claim, or regulatory action arises from a practitioner’s actions, content, conduct, or services, the practitioner accepts full responsibility and agrees that PHA will not be held liable. This includes but is not limited to claims relating to:

  • Professional negligence
  • Misleading advertising or claims
  • Breach of client confidentiality
  • Discrimination or harassment
  • Copyright or trademark infringement

5.7 Listing Fees and Subscriptions

5.7.1 Some practitioner listings are offered free of charge. Paid listings are available as follows:

  • Monthly subscription: £5.00 per month
  • Annual subscription: £55.00 per year

5.7.2 Subscription fees are payable in advance by credit or debit card via our payment processor, Stripe.

5.7.3 Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled.

5.7.4 You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account control panel or by contacting us at https://the-pha.org/hello.

5.7.5 Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial subscription periods.

5.7.6 If payment fails, your listing may be suspended or removed until payment is received.

5.7.7 We reserve the right to change subscription fees with 30 days’ notice. Price changes will not affect existing subscribers until their next renewal date.

5.8 Removal of Listings

We reserve the right to suspend or remove a practitioner listing at our sole discretion, including but not limited to circumstances involving:

  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Repeated complaints from users or other practitioners
  • Breach of these Terms
  • Misleading or false information
  • Illegal activity or content
  • Behaviour that damages the reputation of PHA or the directory
  • Non-payment of subscription fees

We may remove listings even where no specific clause has been breached if we deem it necessary to protect the organisation, the public, the community, or the reputation of the website.

6. Shop Purchases

6.1 Products and Services

We offer both physical and digital products for purchase through shop.the-pha.org.

6.2 Physical Products

6.2.1 Physical merchandise is fulfilled through our print-on-demand supplier, Gelato. Delivery timeframes are determined by Gelato and will be displayed at checkout or communicated after purchase.

6.2.2 Returns for Physical Goods:

  • You have a statutory right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving the goods
  • To exercise this right, contact us at https://the-pha.org/hello/ within the 14-day period
  • You must return the goods to us in their original condition within 14 days of notifying us
  • You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or we sent you the wrong item
  • We will refund the purchase price (excluding original delivery charges) within 14 days of receiving the returned goods
  • If goods arrive damaged or faulty, contact us immediately for a replacement or full refund (including return postage)

6.3 Digital Products

6.3.1 Digital products (downloads, online courses, digital content) are delivered electronically immediately or shortly after purchase.

6.3.2 Right to Cancel for Digital Products:

  • Under UK consumer law, you have 14 days to cancel an order for digital content
  • However, if you access or download the digital content before the 14-day period expires, you waive your right to cancel
  • By completing a purchase of digital content, you agree that we may provide the content immediately and acknowledge that this waives your cancellation right once you access or download it

6.3.3 We do not offer refunds for digital products once they have been accessed or downloaded, except in cases of technical defects that prevent you from accessing the content.

6.4 Payment

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

6.5 Pricing and Availability

6.5.1 All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

6.5.2 We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect orders already placed.

6.5.3 We make every effort to ensure product availability, but we cannot guarantee that products will always be in stock.

7. Donations and Future Memberships

7.1 Donations made to PHA are final and non-refundable.

7.2 We may introduce membership programmes in the future. Membership terms, fees, and cancellation policies will be clearly stated when these programmes launch.

8. Volunteer Database

If you join our volunteer community, you agree to:

  • Provide true and accurate registration details
  • Notify us if your details change
  • Understand that your information will only be used to contact you about potential voluntary roles that match your skills and interests

9. Disclaimer and Medical Information

9.1 The content shared on our websites is for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

9.2 Always seek the advice of your allopathic or naturopathic doctor or another qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical concerns.

9.3 Never delay seeking professional medical guidance because of something you have read on our websites.

9.4 The practitioner directory is provided as an informational resource. Users are solely responsible for choosing their own practitioners and for all decisions relating to their healthcare.

10. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use our websites for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our websites. Specifically, you must not:

10.1 Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the website using automated tools or bots

10.2 Impersonate any person or entity, including practitioners, PHA staff, or other users

10.3 Post, transmit, or share content that is:

  • Offensive, abusive, threatening, or harassing
  • Defamatory or libellous
  • Obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
  • Discriminatory based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • False, misleading, or fraudulent
  • In violation of any third party’s intellectual property rights

10.4 Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our websites, servers, or networks

10.5 Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code

10.6 Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our websites or servers

10.7 Use our websites to spam, phish, or engage in any form of unsolicited marketing

10.8 Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of this section may result in immediate termination of your account and may be reported to law enforcement authorities.

12.2 PHA is not responsible for:

  • We may remove listings if we receive serious or repeated complaints
  • You may also wish to contact the practitioner’s professional body or regulatory organisation directly

15.2 Reporting Prohibited Content: If you encounter content on our websites that violates these Terms, please report it to https://the-pha.org/hello.

15.3 General Complaints: For any other complaints about our services or websites, contact https://the-pha.org/hello. We will respond within 30 days.

16. Limitation of Liability

16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, PHA will not be liable for any loss, claim, injury, costs, or damages arising from:

  • Your reliance on information provided on our websites
  • Your interactions with practitioners listed in our directory
