Google Vids storage, object & version history limits

Learn about the limits for Vids storage, objects, and version history. Limits are subject to change.

Vids storage limits

  • The maximum length of any video or audio clip created in the Vids recording studio is 30 minutes.
  • If your video is longer than 30 minutes, you can only make edits to shorten it. You can't make any other edits until it's less than 30 minutes.
  • You can import audio or video clips of up to 95 minutes or 4 GB, but until you edit them to 30 minutes or shorter, you can't make any other edits.

Drive storage limits

You can't add a media that's larger than your available Drive storage, but you can still edit your video.

Object limits

For each video, you can add up to 50 video and 50 audio objects. This includes the individual clips of:

  • Music
  • Sound effects
  • Voiceovers

Version history limits

If you reach the version history limit in Google Vids, to continue your edits, make a new copy of your video.
