I beleive it has been agreed that around the world,  problems are besetting most of us?                              

Can we have hope however for any real improvement in the near future?                                                    In the hand's of mankind it would appear unlikely!                                                                                             

However based upon the promises Jehovah* God, had recorded in His written word "The Bible"

DALEK a New Batch! presented by BB

After over five years i finally managed to buy twenty three Imperial Daleks for my collection.

Now it certainly is a fact that i have written of my own version of Dalek, events over the years.

Mostly concerning the adventures of Fred and MayBell, using their toy figures to add comedy

       to my story lines and events that happened in  the village of Honey Well a mythical place              

created by myself but aided by my Dearest Mrs B.

                                                              

                         Now these are rather hard to find these days because what with the ongoing of time                                  space and rubish standard versions of ever increasing larger sizes have caused this situation.                                                                                                 

         Inspite of these being new and never played with ,firstly they needed a soapy wash with                            plenty of the finest of bubbles,which i am sure they did not mind at all. 

 

  They would soon dry out after their jolly good hot bath!

Sir Percy, and elusive friend stand in to review that their  standard to join a very large army is amply up to scrath. 'They are' they both decleared!

Endeavour presented by BB

As Monday morning came around once more i found myself endeavouring to tidy up part of 'Fiddle Wood again'. It does seem at this time each year without fail, that people fly tip stuff into the woodland where Mrs B, and i live. They whoever they are have to live here too,and this sad small un-cearing few yes they are always dumping unwanted things especially like this time a huge complete plastic bag the size of a double bed.   So this is Christmas time again and somebody has a brand new double bed,and i expect the old one will end up in the wood too.                                                                                                                                             

Mrs B agreed with me that woodland animals here-abouts could get trapped and therefore suffocate in   such a large plastic bag.                                                                                                                             

       

As for the Deer and the Fox ,                                                                                                                      

Well they have no clear ability to escape once they enter these darn drifting, things that kill.                                                                 

So after a frenzy of display they give up and die.                                                                                        

But not here in Fiddle Wood ,on my Watch!

And so it was that we dragged it out of the wood,

My large sized scissors were soon put into action.

And soon after i began to cut it up into long strips, then smaller sized squares, Bella supervised  the easy quality control in Fiddle Wood, as it was gathered all up and went sailing into the large waste bin.                   

 The why of all this, is these things drift away upon the wind from Land Fill sites after dumping time and so are a clear and present danger to wildlife.                                                                                                   

i dare to make a guess that nobody would ever wish for one of these flying across the cars windscreen ?

O', BATS! by BB

This fortress towering high had been abandoned many years ago, however as the dark curtain of night had fallen reaching the land here about's, the castle sent forth its army of each dark dim night. 

 Bats by their Legions awoke from their slumber then arose up in flight ,and went bug hunting in their own noisy hungry way. But Why?

Well even a Beano Boy such as I, has to have a little fun at play. BB

The door swung open very quickly revealing the angry violent face of the man.

He shouted at the young lady, our sister in the truth.

''Get off my step and clear off! And get a real Job.''

The young girl standing beside her Mother said in a thoughtful inspired calm voice,

''There is no need to shout sir , my dear Mother and i are deaf !''

There are things to scribe in order for them to fit and blend in together.

                       i have a tiny neat engraver for the finer stone walls.                                                           

                          So i look forwards to show some of that up and coming work.

It was this issue reporting news event of the 2nd of Feb 1916 , shown in part below that saw me typing out here, 'O what large letters i wrote,75 years later after my own birth date of the 2/2/49.'                   

Yes i did while smiling, however i soon realised each new book would be twice as thick as the others. That's ok, i thought to myself while drumming my fingers deep in such mystifying ponderings. Well books do come in many sizes however what follows is and was the plan of thoughtful action to ease the cutting off from the sprue of  all those very thick books. A production process that caused a painful end result to my left hand.  So i had to resolve this situation before suffering again after this type of free hand knife cutting!   Yes i cut that very self same thumb again. Such is my lot of being a modest scratch-builder!                                                                                                                                       

i  decided  to split the title up into two words because of their large sizes.   

Now i replaced popular with that of mechanics.

                                          Upon the book shelf two placed side by side with one another,

                                          will read 'POPULAR 'MECHANICS'. Problem solved

Coincidence, played out upon the realisation of my own birth date of the 2nd of Feb 49. 

This P M issue  reported during the Great War, on the 2nd of feb 1916 the fate of the L19 ,German airship that crashed  into the North Sea. She was returning home after bombing London, Great Yarmouth and other places . Although the crew of 16 survived the crash by scrambling on top of the downed airship, they all perished after the English Captain of the fishing boat refused to pick them up. The main reason for such a tragic event was given because the Germans had recently bombed civilian homes during the night along the East Anglian Coast, of Great Britain.

PLEASURE TIME 1930's - 1950's Children's Story Book Covers presented by BB

i having made many an open book cover, that were in turn glued into place over a strip of paper card since the onset of Covid19 now find it easy to find pictures that are in common domain for copying.                                                                                                  

                                                                                                                                       

                                                                                                       

Upon the heals of this April Fools Day ,these paper patterns guided the sewing machines cotton dress design by way of the cast-iron singer machine. My Dearest Mother Grace Liddy, had one of such high speed design and even now within my minds eye i see her busy still with dainty foot upon that moving treadle.                                                                                                                                                          

And so this book was included for remembering that make do society of my youth. Well you see even i BB, had three sisters.

Moving On

        i saw other books to include for my printers ink to colourwash in its pleasing wet damp but quick dry way.  So from one picture...

To another open book cover that eventually took its form.

Perhaps Crabbing?

The artist always used real children  when painting especially for BLACKIE an annual of once a year release.

For myself these paintings are social history and i love collecting them for they invoke such vivid memories of my younger dandelion childhood days of the 1950's.

                                     The hard Cover of the Book is upon show above.

The magical tale of a beautiful young girl that only had one dress kept for best, but had it torn while upon an adventure down within the reed beds of the river. A place where the Swans and Ducks befriended her. But as i only vaguely remember it, it was i do believe all a dream. 

Above is what the thin shiny paper looked like which covered the hard back book with such a highly delightful picture of the Swans being very interested in the bread she holds in her lap.

Here is one i thought i'd zapped away into oblivion, 

    but no it just went walkabout like in the pictures above.

i remember well collecting a few Willow Catkins myself, to take to school for it was the done thing to do in that annual system of younger education.  As i now realise it to be a most long ago practice of   the 1950's learning display it probably does not have any real place within the schooling system in this so called modern  topsy turvy age. Well what do you think?

The artist author used to use real life children in her colourful display  upon  all the hard book covers and also they were duly recorded having interesting fun upon each and every page within each annual as the Christmas season of goodwill arrived in that bygone age of wishful childhood dreams.

What better way could there be ? To captivate the interest in ones toys by reading a story to them from her book.

The innocent dream-like realm of using ones own imagination when alone at play. As for her dolls they all seem very attentive in a much higher degree than would've been normal. For dolls did flop about and fall over throughout all their long lost summersault years.

With rather white plimsolls put into a speedy four way chase he seems quite the happy go lucky lad!
