Speedrun Squid is a free indie game developed by Tavern Tale Studio, wherein you get to be a squid. It is a wacky physics-based action game that will have you barreling through obstacles to reach your goal, which is to catch your meal. In this game, you will play as a squid hoping to catch a fish. However, there will be hindrances in the form of evil crabs. On top of that, the playing field comes with a bottomless pit and killer spikes.

Don’t let your tasty meal escape
Your only goal in Speedrun Squid is to catch the fish by controlling the squid through the playing field. However, as mentioned, there are lots of obstacles in your way: the evil crabs and the killer spikes. If you bump into any of these, you will lose the game. Additionally, you also need to avoid falling on the bottomless pit as it can also lead to your loss.
To be able to move around the field, you can use the sea rocks. These boulders are strategically placed around the game map, so you can move your way by grappling onto them. Speedrun Squid comes with various levels and as with most games of the same mechanics, the level of difficulty increases as you progress. Be warned, however. In this game, the first level is actually a difficult one. It will probably take a while for you just to get through.
Additionally, there is no reward system after completing a level. There isn’t even a leaderboard to see how you fare against other players. What will make you play the game over and over is the challenge of completing a seemingly-impossible level.

Overall, Speedrun Squid is a fun casual game to play to pass the time. It has a simple gameplay that is easy enough to understand. There isn’t much to do aside from trying to catch the fish and avoiding the obstacles. However, the levels are challenging enough that you will find it addicting despite the repetitiveness.
