  • Hi, I’m Mirai, host of the Team Berry system! I didn’t put this front and center previously, but I feel it’s somewhat necessary now. So, in light of new information, I’m making a new pinned post!

I’ll keep it short and sweet this time. No philosophical musings, I’ve already made my thoughts clear, just the information you need.

If you would like a link to the old pinned post with said musings, click here: It’s outdated, but still holds up at least a bit.

Since that pinned post, a lot of things have changed, and things have gotten far more complicated. That’s besides the point, however.

First thing’s first, our body is an adult. We do try to stay away from 18+ accounts whenever possible, but that feels like an important thing to mention.

Second thing’s second, we’re accepting of a lot of things, but the one thing we don’t accept is intolerance. Please keep discourse out of our posts, thanks! Be lucky this is the short version and not the long one.

Feel free to send asks to any of us, even if you aren’t a mutual!

Finally, here’s a list of who’s who based on emoji.

    💡- Mirai [she/her]
    🌙- Moon [she/her]
    🪄- Zoey [she/they]
    🍯- Aspen [she/her]
    🧊- Yui [they/them]
    ✨- Wis [she/it]
    🍃- Maple [she/it]
    ✂️- Stardust [they/she]
    🍀- Clover [they/them]
    ⚡- Nix [she/her]
    💙- Mibi [it/she]
    ⚙️- Second Sentinel [it/its]

Our old way of posting used colors to delineate who’s who, but there are simply not enough colors for everyone now, so we’ll either put our emoji in the tags or in the post. We use the same ones on Discord!

I suppose I’ll end this with one bit of musing. As a treat.

  • i miss one command contraptions in minecraft. i love you giant god machines that rewrite reality contained neatly in boxes at the center of the world

  • bonus points for this never being the intended way of interacting with reality. these machines are using features that were never meant to be put together in this way to bodge new things into existence

  • I recently found my “gold” hammer after misplacing it. It’s my favorite tool ever because it looks like a regular hammer trying to be fancy,

    image

but then you twist both halves and unscrew it to find a flat-head screwdriver in the middle.

    image

BUT, if you twist the very end and unscrew that

    image

    you find a phillips screwdriver.

BUT DON’T THINK THAT’S ALL THERE IS! THERE’S MORE!! unscrew the very end again to find a smaller flat-head screwdriver!

    image

BUT THAT’S STILL NOT THE END!!

unscrew the end of this screwdriver to find a final, teeny tiny, flat-head screwdriver

    image

look at how cute it is!

it’s like a matryoshka doll of tools.

  • I have one of these and I keep it in my IT toolkit because that teeny little screwdriver is the right side for laptop casings, but because it lives inside a large object it’s harder to misplace than a standard tiny screwdriver. Also because the look on a client’s face when you bring out a brass hammer to fix their laptop is absolutely wild.

  • I have one of those! TERRIBLE at being a hammer, though.

little thingy from the other week, stuff on my mind

  • Or as I've always liked to put it, "No matter how suspicious you might find the neighbor who never opens their blinds, they will never be as suspicious as the neighbor who wants free rein to peek in through people’s windows."

  • screenshot of a YouTube comment from @equesdeventusoccasus. Quote: "Back in the 1980s I wrote a letter to Dr Asimov. I never expected a reply. I got a four-page letter from him. Some of the best writing advice I ever received came from that letter. One thing I remember to this day about that letter, I refer to as Asimov's Tail. He told me that if your character is going to use his tail to win a fight on page 120, someone needs to step on that tail before page 20." end quoteALT

Okay, we got a new one, boys.

  • Okay so, definitely this is about not giving your protagonist a spontaneous murder tail, but more largely and it's about building a living breathing world where things fit and work together within an established framework, rather than just adding new mechanics and features in isolation and outside of the rules the reader expects the world to follow.

  • theres like a yuri cambrian explosion happening

  • was going to further explain how in the cons ive been to over the last few years theres been a dramatic increase in yuri (both ship art and art of actual yuri manga characters and even original w/w comics from artists) and it is excellent to see us progress towards more of a balance between yuri and yaoi but tbh the phrase yuri cambrian explosion just made me think like what if an anomalocaris and an opabinia were girlfriend

  • I fully support Pluto as an aro symbol (x) but as a space scientist I cannot support any arguments that claim it's because Pluto should be a planet. The true reason Pluto is an aro symbol is precisely because people tie the amount of love and care this wonderful celestial body receives to which label it has. Just because a relationship with someone is not labeled as romantic should not mean that this relationship has to be treated as less worthy of time and care and effort. Just because Pluto is not labeled as a planet does not mean it is less worthy of our time and care and effort.

Here is another reason Pluto is aro: Pluto has a heart shaped region called the Tombaugh region:

    image

[ID: an image of Pluto and it's heart shaped Tombaugh region, with the moon Charon in the background. End ID]

Now, Pluto and it's moon Charon are tidally locked, meaning they always face each other with the same hemisphere. Pluto's heart is always facing away from Charon. Some articles have phrased this as being tragically romantic, but I disagree! Here are two celestial objects orbiting each other for billions of years, and they are doing this while Pluto keeps it's heart hidden. Because in this case, love is not part of the equation that makes up their bond, romance does not play a part in their gravitational pull towards each other. That's aro as fuck, in my humble opinion.

  • In conclusion:

[ID: the dwarf planet Pluto in front of the aromantic flag. End ID]

  • don't reblog this to insist Pluto should be a planet I will bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you bite you
