Sisters in sound, Tracy Redhead and Sofie Loizou are Rochelle Salt, and have been experimenting with musical machines for as long as they’ve known each other. Together they create a lush, distinctive electro dream pop sound, framing exquisite vocals and complex, uneasy lyrics with precisely sculpted beats and warm, rich electronic soundscapes.
Their first release ‘Out of Control’ explores characteristic themes of the impossibility of knowledge, the vastness of the world, ringing out as if through a summer rain of acoustic drums and atmospheric pads.
Rochelle Salt, infused with heat and sparkling with shards of alpine ice, are creating sounds that speak to the contemporary moment in all its disorientating contradictions. As a composite persona, Rochelle Salt grapples with the unspoken interiorities of being on this planet at this moment in time; two women reimagining the world and their relationship to it, transcending distance and disconnection to beckon the possibility of wholeness into existence.
