Hello friends! I know it's been forever,
but I'm excited to finally have a moment to share on my blog again!

I thought it would be fun to create a new header for the new year...

 

Then of course my brain wanted to create more designs with this flower element...

So, I made a free downloadable desktop Wallpaper you can get here for the New Year!

And then, just for fun, I turned  the floral into a pattern and fashion sketch, cos’ why not?

I drew this quick little mini sketch with color pencils several years ago and I have been wanting to do a more fleshed out version for a while.

This is still very much a work in progress, but I thought it’d be fun to share the direction it’s going.

90's Fashion

 I came across a sketch I drew in middle school designing outfits for my Barbie doll! Even back then, i loved drawing fashion images... and when i found the sketch, I couldn't help doing a redraw! 

It was so fun to play with 90's fashion styles again... I'm excited to draw more fashion images in the future!

Zombie Girl

 

After I drew this quick little zombie sketch, I realized that the next step, (which was to paint her) seemed to be taking quite a while longer to get going. A pattern I seem to find myself in a lot.

It finally dawned on me, that when it comes to executing the painting part of a piece, my brain wants to try executing it in 50 different ways which then put me in a place of feeling overwhelmed and stuck in a state of avoidance (anybody else know what I mean?)

I finally decided to attempt at least 3 approaches (out of the too many vying for attention) instead of trying to just pick one... and it ended up being so much more fun to do it like this!

In school and work it seems that due dates or deadlines force us to execute a project without the chance of the time needed to really play with exploration.
