Pushover is a brilliant service that works just as advertised to get notifications on your phone. After a seven day trial you have to pay once, and then it works forever on any of your Android devices. They tell you about this beforehand, too, so this is no surprise Freemium. Their API is very well documented and consistent. Couldn't be happier. Edit five years later: still incredibly satisfied.

I'm standing up a Home Assistant instance and needed a way to send myself notifications. After considering alternatives, I downloaded and installed the 30-day Pushover trial yesterday. Today I bought it. What a great, clean, simple solution! Exactly what I needed.

Pushover is great for home automation notifications. I bought it on the Dec 21st. Today, Dec 24th, Google issued a refund that I didn't request. The app doesn't get notifications now. Do you know what's going on?
