Providence Swings is excited to announce our next class series! You guessed it — it’s Lindy 2! Twice the fun🤩 ! This class series is longer than usual so the price is a little higher ($112) but still a good deal if you pay for the whole class series😉 Not sold on the whole class series, don't worry we will always offer a drop in price.
Don’t worry if you missed Lindy 1, this is still a beginners series! This is your last chance to join us for a bit as we will move on to Lindy 3+4. To reiterate, no experience or partner required! Just you🫵, a positive attitude, a water bottle, a clean pair of shoes that haven’t been worn outside, and comfortable clothing you can move around in (maybe Providence Swings merch😎). If you did attend Lindy 1, please join us again as we will build on your Lindy skills. Help us spread the word! PLEASE NOTE: After the first two weeks, we won’t allow total beginners to drop into the class as they will have missed too much material.
We hold classes at Metamorphosis Studio, which can be tricky to find! There is a video about how to find it on our Instagram and we will leave some instructions below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your GPS may take you to the front of the building at 249 Roosevelt Ave. In order to access the STUDIO you should pull into the lot that is on the corner of Roosevelt & Exchange streets, (same side as the building) and not the lot across from the building on Roosevelt Ave. You will see a sign for the Elisha Project.
Drive around to the back of the building and you will find the entrance. There is a sign for Metamorphosis and the entrance has some potted trees in front of it.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email providenceswings@gmail.com.

Background of Lindy Hop
Lindy Hop originated in the Black American community in Harlem, New York City in the late 1920s. It became an important part of Black American culture, with strong connections to Black American music, social life, and community connection.
You can watch Lindy Hop dancer and teacher Tyedric Hill explain the Black American history of Lindy Hop in this video: Dance through Lindy Hop's Black American Roots
Scholarship Program
Providence Swings is committed to responsible stewardship of the Black American history of Lindy Hop. As part of this effort, we are offering a scholarship program for Black/African American members of our community to take classes with Providence Swings at low or no cost.
We have a set number of full and partial scholarships available for each lesson series.
Lessons
Providence Swings lessons are on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 PM at TEN31 Productions (249 Roosevelt Ave #11, Pawtucket, RI 02860).
